  Biography of Meredith Robb

Meredith Robb is a designer and creator of original, hardware-inspired jewellery. Currently based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, she graduated from NSCAD University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewellery Design & Metalsmithing, and has since been forging her career as a professional artist.

While attending NSCAD University, she took an immediate interest in jewellery and metal work, enjoying the detail and craftsmanship involved, as well as the more practical nature of working in the craft field. Materials driven, and working primarily with industrial materials alongside the more traditional metals, Meredith's continued focus is on creating work with a high level of wearability and aesthetic interest. In addition to her BFA, she also holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Mount Alison University. She credits her experience there with her commitment to making jewellery that is both aesthetically pleasing, and analytical of the medium.

Thus far, Meredith's work has been featured in several shows around Halifax, including shows at the Anna Leonowens Gallery, Eye Level Gallery as part of the NeoCraft exhibition, and Vessel Gallery as part of a residency at the NSCCD. Her work also won the Lafrenière & Pai 5th Annual Student Jewellery Competition, where it was featured at the Ottawa based gallery, as well as part of their exhibitions at OBJECToronto and SOFA Chicago.
